The Star (MCA) reported not this piece of ‘hate-news’. In fact, the Star only paints a nice rosy picture of a very tone down Umno AGM. How much truth do you expect from what many people call ‘Ma-chai’ paper?

Malaysiakini reported:

An Umno Youth chief from a division in Selangor, Ismail Ahmad, told opposition parties and their supporters to leave the country if they are not happy. “These people, they come to a Malay area and they tell me that our country is not doing well and people are still suffering. Well, I’ll tell you, you can apply for citizenship in Singapore,” he said. Ismail, who helms the Youth wing of the Gombak division, was referring to an opposition claim that the economic pie is not shared equitably with all races. “This is my house and those who do not live in my house have no right to tell me how to decorate it,” he told delegates.

Echoing what Whatalulu said: Lulu was born and bred here. A Malaysian citizen. Likewise for Lulu’s parents. Born and bred here. Malaysian citizens. Your de-facto boss in UMNO Youth aka SIL can’t even boast of that. Your state boss can’t even boast of that.

This is my house. I presume he is saying that only Malay Malaysians own this country? IS he is right to say that if you are not of Malay descent or an Indian Muslim, you can’t possibly belonged to this nation?

For me, the statement by Ismail Ahmad just shows what sort of anti-unity thinking many Umno leaders have. These statements are anti-Malaysia and reveals a twisted intolerant & chauvinistic mindset. He still thinks that this nation is still called Tanah Melayu! I suppose 1957 and 1963 has not arrived for him as he is wrapped in a time capsule. You would be forgiven if you thought this Ismail fellow is a little delusional and living as if it is Zaman Jepun.

Go apply for citizenship in Singapore.

If this statement was addressed to me. I would say:

Encik Ismail, Singapore actually paid for my junior college education, offered PR on a plate for me. I didn’t take it – because my blood is too Malaysian to become Kiasu. (Actually, I have Malay blood in my veins – because my grandma is a nonya! ) My own country didn’t pay for my university education, a foreign nation – Australia did. Despite my own country not giving me any scholarships, I returned to serve my country in the MSC. Why are you telling me now go apply to live in Singapore? Is this how you would threat your fellow citizens? With discrimination and marginalization. I believe many of us (non-malays) now have decided to stay on in Malaysia (our country) because we want to defeat bigoted people like Ismail.”

Ismail, do you think that Singapore will accept someone who is delusional and still living in a time capsule?
